Public Health England is calling for adults across the country to take a free, online Heart Age Test, which will provide an immediate estimation of their ‘heart age’. If someone’s heart age is higher than their actual age, they are at an increased risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

The Primary Care Cancer Toolkit has been developed by the RCGP in collaboration with Cancer Research UK as part of our partnership to raise awareness and knowledge of the role of primary care in cancer control. It is designed for use by primary healthcare professionals in the UK.

Primary care networks are a new way for local health services to work together to care for populations of around 30-50,000.

As part of the work to integrate community pharmacy into local NHS urgent care pathways, as an element of the Pharmacy Integration Fund programme, a new pathway defined as the NHS Community Pharmacist Referral Service (CPCS) (formerly known as the Digital Minor Illness Referral Service (DMIRS) has been tested in the North East since December 2017 and in Devon, the East Midlands and London since autumn 2018.

The very first Westcountry GP job fair took place on 29 June 18 and saw GP practices and local health organisations come together to showcase what the region has to offer to GP candidates considering working here.


In Autumn 2017, Health Education England South West released funding to support Pan-STP Urgent and Emergency Care Workforce initiatives across the South West.  Following a meeting with the six Local Workforce Action Boards (LWABs), four projects were chosen.  A new Pan-STP Programme Board was then established to oversee the work.
